What an honour it was to celebrate 20 years of the West Wycombe Chamber Choir at their anniversary dinner, held at the beautiful Princes Risborough Golf Club in the heart of the Chilterns.
Anniversary celebrations are always special, but this one meant a little more to us than most – Fill The Floor Discos has had the pleasure of working with the choir for the full 20 years. Two decades of concerts and parties later, being part of their big milestone evening felt like celebrating with old friends.
20 Years of the West Wycombe Chamber Choir
Formed back in 2006, the West Wycombe Chamber Choir has grown into a wonderful community of singers performing everything from Bach to the Beatles. There are no auditions and beginners are always welcome, which is exactly why the choir has thrived for two decades – it’s as much about friendship as it is about music.
Reaching a 20th anniversary is a fantastic achievement for any club or society, and the dinner was the perfect way to mark it – a room full of members past and present, sharing memories over a lovely meal and looking forward to the next chapter. The golf club made a wonderful setting for the occasion, with plenty of space for dining, presentations and dancing.
What We Provided
For this milestone evening we supplied:
- Disco – background music through dinner and the presentations, then a lively dance floor to round off the night
- Light Up Numbers – a glowing “20” marking two decades of singing
Awards, Medals and a Singalong
The evening’s presentations were a lovely touch. Special awards were given to the original choir members who have been singing with the choir for the full 20 years – a remarkable commitment – while members who have reached 10 years received medals to mark their decade of service. Watching those original members collect their awards, two decades after their first rehearsal, was a genuinely moving moment for everyone in the room.
And of course, you can’t put a room full of singers together without a song. The choir singalong was a real highlight of the night – there aren’t many events we work at where the guests provide the harmonies! The light up “20” made the perfect backdrop for photos as members celebrated with friends old and new, before the dance floor filled for the rest of the evening.
