DJ Lesson Terms & Conditions
These are the terms for FTFD DJ Academy one-to-one DJ lessons. They’re written in plain English on purpose — if anything’s unclear, just ask.
1. The lessons
Lessons are one-to-one, in your own home, on a weekday (Monday–Thursday) at your agreed weekly slot. I bring and set up all the equipment — professional Pioneer DJ gear — and take it with me afterwards. Lessons are for students aged 11–16.
2. Prices and paying
Pay as you go: £30 per 30-minute lesson, £55 per hour, payable at least 24 hours before each lesson.
Term of 10 weekly lessons: £275 (30-minute) or £500 (hour), payable in full before the first lesson.
Payment is by card online or bank transfer.
3. The first-lesson promise (terms only)
If you book a term and the first lesson isn’t right for your child, tell me any time before lesson two and I’ll refund the other nine lessons in full. You only pay for the first lesson at the term rate — so £247.50 back on a £275 term, or £450 back on a £500 term.
4. Missed lessons and cancellations
Need to move or cancel a lesson? Give me at least 24 hours’ notice and we’ll rearrange it — nothing lost. With less notice than that, the first one each term is still rearranged free; after that the lesson is counted as taken. If your child is suddenly unwell, tell me as early as you can and I’ll always do my best to rearrange. If I ever have to cancel, your lesson is rearranged or refunded — your choice.
5. Keeping your slot — renewals
Weekly slots are limited and yours is reserved term to term. Around lesson eight I’ll check in about the next term; unless you tell me otherwise by then, I’ll assume you’re continuing and keep your slot held. If you’re stopping, just say by lesson eight — nothing further to pay.
6. At the lesson
A parent or responsible adult (18+) must be at home for the whole lesson, and you’re always welcome to sit in. Please have a table or clear surface available near a plug socket. Students should treat the equipment with care — I only ask parents to cover repair costs for deliberate damage; normal wear, accidents and enthusiastic scratching are on me.
7. Photos and videos
The young DJ you’ll see in photos on my website and social media is my own son — not a student. I never post identifiable photos or videos of students publicly. Anything used in marketing is faces-obscured or hands-and-decks only, and only ever with your written OK first. You’re always welcome to say no — it changes nothing about the lessons.
8. Safety and insurance
I’m an enhanced-DBS-checked secondary school music teacher and head of department, with public liability insurance.
9. Your information
I keep your contact details and your child’s first name, age and lesson notes only to run the lessons — never for anything else, and never shared or sold. Ask any time and I’ll show you what I hold, or delete it once lessons end.
10. The boring bit
These terms cover DJ lessons only — discos and parties have their own terms. I can update these between terms (never mid-term) and I’ll tell you if I do. Nothing here affects your statutory rights.
