The Metropolitan, Bushey
We were delighted to return to The Metropolitan in Bushey on Friday evening to provide our Gold package for St Michael’s Catholic High School’s Year 11 Prom. The Ballroom was the perfect setting for our Gold package, featuring a sleek black disco setup, a magic mirror photo booth, 4ft tall illuminated PROM letters, and atmospheric mood lighting.
The event was a fantastic success from start to finish. Students enjoyed dancing throughout the evening and loved posing for photos in front of the glowing letters and the magic mirror, creating memories to last a lifetime.

Planning an Event at The Metropolitan, Bushey?
The Metropolitan is one of Bushey’s most striking venues — a proper ballroom feel, plenty of space for a dance floor, and room for a full setup without it ever feeling crowded. For this prom we ran our Gold package, but we tailor the setup to the occasion: school proms, milestone birthdays, corporate parties and wedding receptions all work brilliantly in the space.
Because we’re a local team, load-in at The Metropolitan is straightforward — we arrive early, have everything built and sound-checked long before guests walk in, and agree timings with the venue team so the evening runs without a hitch. Every booking comes with PAT-tested equipment, full public liability insurance and a written contract, which venues and schools always appreciate.
What works well for proms
Prom crowds bring serious energy, and the trick is channelling it: current chart hits and TikTok favourites mixed with the singalongs everyone secretly loves, with requests taken on the night so the students feel like it’s their playlist. Our 4ft light-up PROM letters have become the photo moment of the year, and the magic mirror photo booth usually has a queue from the first song to the last.
Music-wise, the ballroom rewards a proper mix. For proms that means the current chart alongside the throwbacks the whole year group knows word for word; for family parties it means Motown, disco and party classics building through to modern floor-fillers. We read the room as we go — if a style is flying we stay with it, and if energy dips we change direction before anyone drifts away. It’s the same approach that keeps our reviews five-star across hundreds of events in Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire.
Beyond proms, The Metropolitan lends itself to almost any celebration. The ballroom takes a full production setup — starlit dance floor, uplighting, moving heads — without losing its elegance, which makes it a favourite for fortieth and fiftieth birthdays, anniversary parties and end-of-year corporate events. For daytime functions we can run discreet background sound and a microphone for speeches, then flip the room into full party mode as the evening starts.
If you’re organising a school event, we hold full public liability insurance and our equipment is PAT-tested annually, with documentation supplied to the venue in advance — the paperwork side is handled before anyone asks. Teachers tell us the thing they value most is that we manage the music and the microphone moments so staff can actually enjoy the night. Prom dates for next summer start booking in the autumn term, so it’s worth enquiring early to get the date you want.
