Berkhamsted Lawn Tennis & Squash Rackets Club sits in Canal Fields on Lower Kings Road, just over the footbridge from the High Street through the Waitrose car park, with the station a couple of minutes away.
The party space is the club’s L-shaped lounge bar: a staffed, licensed bar, a dance floor at one end, a seating area round the corner where guests can sit and talk without being drowned out, a space for food near the entrance and a large TV screen for photo slideshows. There is an outside area with tables and chairs for the hot summer days, catering is available and the room can be hired on weekdays or weekends.
It takes up to 120 guests, which makes it a natural fit for a milestone birthday. We are the club’s recommended DJ and have played more parties here than at any other venue, including Claire’s 40th, Rachel & Keith’s 50th and Graham’s 60th.

The 4ft light-up numbers work in two places: along the wall near the DJ, where every dance-floor photo catches them, or in the seating area.
