About Moor Park

Moor Park is an 18th-century Palladian mansion in around 300 acres of parkland — these days the home of one of the country’s best-known golf clubs, and one of the most spectacular wedding settings in Hertfordshire. The Main Hall is the heart of it, seating up to around 200: two storeys of murals and gilded plasterwork, with the balcony circling above the dance floor.

And then there’s the ceiling. It looks for all the world like a dome — it isn’t. It’s flat, painted as a trompe-l’oeil illusion, and watching guests work that out is one of the quiet pleasures of a night here. Photographers love working from the balcony — everyone dancing, shot from above with that ceiling in frame — and it’s worth asking the venue what’s possible up there on the night.

Everything we bring to Moor Park is planned around the Main Hall — sound sized for a double-height room with a balcony, and lighting that works with the murals and gilding rather than fighting them.

We work closely with each couple to create the soundtrack for their wedding — and every booking includes our online planning portal, where you choose your must-plays, your do-not-plays and your special dances, and sort the planning details in your own time. There’s a phone app for adding a song the moment it comes to mind, and a request link you can share with guests before the day. From the first dance through to the final song of the night, the playlist starts with you.

DJ Setup for This Venue

We’ve had the Main Hall at full energy — a few hundred guests will teach you everything about what a room can do. We set up in the Main Hall itself, tucked in so the focus stays where it belongs — on the two of you, and the photo booth goes in the hallway just off the hall — close enough that guests drift between dancing and photos without the party splitting. In a tall room with a balcony, sound works best handled with care — lively on the floor, comfortable for conversation above — and our uplighting works with the gilding rather than against it. When we bring your wedding here, everything this room has taught us will come with us.

You also get a choice of look: our sleek black starlit setup or the elegant white starlit setup. Both offer the same high-quality sound and lighting — you can choose the finish that suits your day and decor.

Reading the room is the job — and the Main Hall gives us more to read than most. In the Main Hall we can see everything: who’s dancing, who’s hovering at the edge deciding, and who needs one more familiar chorus before they commit — and the right song at the right moment does exactly that.

We mix decades and genres for the whole room — not just the people already dancing — from singalong classics to modern floor-fillers, and keep the energy where it should be — doing everything we can to live up to the name.
