James Serena Wedding Wasing Park

James Serena Wedding Wasing Park was a dream Berkshire wedding day at one of the country’s most photographed venues. Fill The Floor Discos provided full DJ, sound and lighting for the James Serena Wedding Wasing Park reception.

Why James Serena Wedding Wasing Park Worked So Well

Wasing Park is purpose-built for weddings. We set up a clean PA, moving heads and uplighting, and cold-spark units saved for the first dance moment of the James Serena Wedding Wasing Park night. The James Serena Wedding Wasing Park crowd was packed with friends and family ready to dance.

The James Serena Wedding Wasing Park playlist mixed acoustic-style first-dance moments with classic 80s and 90s floor-fillers, modern hits and a closing-set of guaranteed sing-alongs. The James Serena Wedding Wasing Park dance floor stayed packed from the first dance through to last orders.

Wasing Park Lighting and Setup Tips

For a James Serena Wedding Wasing Park style booking we recommend full venue uplighting in the wedding colours, plus moving heads on the dance floor. The James Serena Wedding Wasing Park acoustic worked best with a mid-sized PA and a single sub.

About Wasing Park

Wasing Park is one of Berkshire’s most distinctive wedding venues — a Grade I listed estate just outside Aldermaston, around 10 miles from Reading and a comfortable drive for couples coming in from London, Hampshire and the Thames Valley. The headline ceremony space is the Castle Barn, an imposing converted timber-framed barn that comfortably seats up to 150 guests for both the ceremony and the wedding breakfast, with a separate licensed Chapel for couples who want a more formal walk down the aisle elsewhere on the estate.

What we love about DJ’ing at Wasing Park is the acoustic. The barn’s tall vaulted timbers give vocals real warmth without that hollow echo you sometimes get in converted barns — meaning live mic work for first dances, speeches and announcements lands clean, and the dance-floor energy stays focused rather than washing out around the room. The grounds also lend themselves beautifully to evening uplighting in deep ambers and soft golds, which we matched to the venue’s interior tones for James and Serena’s evening reception.

Although Wasing Park is outside our usual Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire wedding patch, we travel for weddings. If you’re booking a Wasing Park wedding and want a 5-star DJ with the kit and experience to match the venue, take a look at our wedding DJ packages or get in touch for a free quote.

Wasing Park Wedding DJ — FAQs

Do you DJ weddings at Wasing Park?

Yes. We’ve performed full wedding-day DJ services at Wasing Park, including ceremony PA, drinks reception background music, wedding breakfast announcements and the evening dance floor. We’re happy to travel from our Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire base to cover Berkshire weddings.

How early do you arrive to set up at Wasing Park?

We typically arrive 2–3 hours before guests for a full Castle Barn setup — sound desk, dance-floor lighting rig, ambient uplighting and any extras like 4ft light-up letters or numbers. For ceremony-only PA we’ll arrive earlier and rig discreetly in the Chapel or barn.

Can you provide lighting that suits the Castle Barn?

Yes. The barn’s timber and stone work beautifully with warm uplighting, and we’ll programme the wash in tones that match your colour scheme. For the dance floor we use moving heads on a low haze for clean beam definition without smoke fog.

Do you cover the drinks reception as well as the evening?

Yes — full-day coverage is included as standard in our wedding packages. That covers walk-in music for the ceremony, drinks reception, wedding breakfast, and the evening reception with first dance through to last orders.

What’s your standard wedding DJ package?

Our wedding packages start at the Bronze tier (full-day DJ + sound + standard dance floor lighting) and step up to Diamond (DJ + premium sound + uplighting + 4ft sparkle letters or numbers + dance-floor sparkle). Free quote for your specific requirements.

We were privileged to be part for James and Serena’s special day this week, at the gorgeous Wasing Park in Aldermaston, Reading.

We supplied them with our premium disco and both our 4ft and 2ft tall light up ‘LOVE’ letters.  These stunning decorations created a beautiful atmosphere and provide the perfect backdrops for photos they will treasure forever.
